Who are we? Terroir New Jersey comprises wineries, growers, and supporters who are committed to producing quality wines from New Jersey-grown fruit.
We prioritize transparency, adherence to national quality standards, and support for growers and fellow wineries to foster collective improvement.
Through this commitment, we aim to attain recognition and respect. Our group represents the future vision for New Jersey’s Wine Industry.
The Showcase is not a competition but a platform to set standards and benchmarks for wine quality in our state and is a non-profit, independently financed by the participating wineries.
A professional panel of evaluators from around the world has been assembled based on their qualifications and dedication to improving the quality of our state’s wines. They will offer professional feedback to assist wineries in improving their winemaking practices if they choose to do so.
During the Showcase, the evaluators will independently assess each wine in a blind format, based on its merits, identifying key quality indicators.
Wines that achieve a predetermined minimum evaluation rating will be designated as ‘Showcase Selection’ wines and will be widely promoted at various events over the following year, including opportunities with members of the press and featured at prominent functions. There is no limit to the number of wines included in the Showcase Selection.
‘Showcase Selection’ wines will demonstrate viticultural excellence and reflect each winery’s commitment to using 100% state-grown and produced fruit. This approach aims to elevate New Jersey’s status as a notable wine-producing region.
Our objective is to encourage more NJ wineries to create wines from state-grown fruit, establishing unique, terroir-driven identities. We want consumers to recognize ‘Showcase Selection’ for its association with high-quality, locally produced wine.
Every commercial winery in our state has the right to participate in this Showcase. They may submit as many of the 100% New Jersey-grown wines they produce (2 bottles of each). We have established two delivery points in northern and southern NJ for your convenience. We look forward to your participation!
